In Netscape you can set it to wrap long lines at a set number of
characters; I think people recommend around 70 columns.

You can have Netscape list messages by subject, sender, date, and
whether it's marked as read or not, among other things I never bother
with. Just click on the column headings above the list of messages to
sort by them; to reverse the order of sorting, click again.
