"Deviously" using lotsa open windows, ceiling fans, oscillating room
fans, cool drinks, etc 0_o?
Once in Uvalde, Texas, - in the height of summer years & years ago - I
took to bathing in a tub with ice cubes.... only way to remain
semi-functional in that west Texas environment.
Of course the cooling effects were only good for like 1/2 hour before one
was suffering again.
One could get into the tub fully clothed, get out of the tub and be dry
as a bone within 45 min.s to an hour!!!
When reading Frank Herbert's _Dune_ series I imagined that kind of
heat... it made the reading experience so much more intense.
OBCONLANG/CULTURE: What are some idiomatic ways of describing absolutely
miserable weather and what are some conventional and/or unusual concultural
adaptions/survival tactics in regards to absolutely miserable climates?
