It's the normal form. The prefixes always go: di-, tri-, tetra-, penta-,
hexa-, hepta-, etc... I have never seen a "tessera-" prefix before in my
entire life. Tetra- is the only prefix I've ever seen: "tetragraph",
"tetraedron", etc...

The word indeed, but the prefix tetra- is alive and well and often used ;)) .
