Yeah, using "n-gons" isn't obnoxious, especially in a serious
mathematical context. For that matter, "tetragon" isn't really
obnoxious, since geeks will figure out what you mean and your typical
man-on-the-street wouldn't understand "quadrilateral" either. :)
"Trigon", on the other hand, is likely to elicit a "huh?" response,
except perhaps among comic book geeks who will wonder why you're
talking about Raven's demonic father . . .
