My AncientGreek-to-Russian dictionary says:
<<te'ssares, te'ssara; [Ionic] te'sseres; [Attic] te'ttares; [Doric] te'ttores
and te'tores; [Eolic] pi'syres -- four>>
No comments needed, I hope.
The same dic lists lots of A.G. words startings with "tetra-", e.g.:
tetra'gonos "with four corners"
tetra'kyklos "with four wheels"
tetra'poys (Gen. -podos) "with four legs"
tetrapha'le:ros "with four combs"
