Well, I'm expecting it to be pretty good. I think the disappointment stems from two things: (1) There's been a *whole* lot of artificial hype about the movies recently; they're making it out to be the cinematic version of the recent Impeachment trial here. Constant coverage of every move, every detail. (2) A lot of the people who're seeing are not young kids, but were when they first saw the original movies starting in 1977. These people have of course grown up, and can now appreciate movies on a far deeper level. When they get a movie that is just about on the same level as the originals (they were all written at the same time, all nine of them), they forget to think that their original impressions of the other movies (the ones that have continued to stay with them for sentimental reasons) were through very different eyes. Anyways, that's my guess at least, for a lot of 'em. =========================================== Tom Wier <artabanos@...> AIM: Deuterotom ICQ: 4315704 <http://www.angelfire.com/tx/eclectorium/> "Cogito ergo sum, sed credo ergo ero." ===========================================
