In Portuguese:

1)
She teaches him the lesson.
Ela ensina a lição a ele. / Ela o ensina a lição.
She teaches the lesson to he. / She him teaches the lesson.

2)
The lesson is taught to him.
A lição é ensinada a ele.
The lesson is taught to he.

3)
He is taught the lesson.
A ele é ensinada a lição.
To he is taught the lesson.

Realize that the third sentence is merely the second sentence with the order
inverted. In Portuguese, it is not "grammatical" to say "He is taught the
lesson" (Ele é ensinado a lição), although it is valid to say "He is taught"
(Ele é ensinado) or "He is taught through the lesson" (Ele é ensinado por
meio da lição). Languages, languages...
