After being in Nevada and hearing the locals speak, they don't speak
significantly different than the ones in California.

LOL. No, I suppose not. ;)
Still, that Southern Californian speech is pretty common in the people
from CA who have moved to Vegas, especially in people my age. I can't tell
you how many times I've heard "like" in a sentence so many times it's
incomprehensible. It's, like, so annoying...
