"So, how about getting some statistics together on the list? I just thought
I'd ask some questions largely unrelated to conlangs.

"1)Where were you brought up?

I lived in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, age 0-9, then moved to Mississauga, a
Toronto suburb, in early August of 1999, and have lived there ever since.

"2)Where do you live, countrywise?

Canada.

([Have I missed anything?] No, I don't live in an igloo (iglu BTW). My dad
isn't a lumberjack. I don't have a pet polar bear (I haven't got any). I don't
recall having even seen a beaver. :))) )

"3)What is your nationality, as you see it?

Canadian-European. Something like that :)

"4)Where does your family come from?

My dad is USAian (he comes from Chicago), and my mom is Hungarian (she comes
from Vojvodina, Serbia and Montenegro - but Vojvodina used to belong to
Hungary, she's not Serbian).

"5)What colour is your hair?

Broun/brown.

"6)What colour are your eyes?

Hazel.

"7)What colour is your skin?

What they call 'white'. Gets red in the cold, tho, which has seemed to happen
quite too often lately :) .

"8)Are you left or right handed?

Right-handed.

"9)What is/are your mother tongue(s)

English; the standard Canadian dialect. Very similar to General American
(identical?).

"10)Are you fluent in any other languages? If so, which?

How do you define 'fluent'? I guess you could say i'm very literate in French -
but, in writing, only relexificationally (ask Christophe, he'll know), and
listening/speaking is not so easy as I don't have much time to practise it. And
anyway, the methods for teaching langs in school aren't any good, so of course
I'm a relexificationalist.

And then there's Hungarian. I'm learning it, and don't have much (any?) time to
practise. All we speak is English at home - my dad doesn't know a word of
Hungarian (OK, there's exaggerating it, but you know what I mean :(( ) and he
won't even try to learn it. I'm extremely literate in Hungarian, as its
orthography is wonderfully phonemic! If I listen carefully, I can sort of
pick up what's being said; but that isn't so easy. The best part is, there's no
grammatical gender!! (But it's complicated in other ways.)

"11)Are you homosexual, heterosexual, or bisexual?

Het'ro.

"12)What (non-)religion are you?

Christian.

"13)What denomination of that religion?

Roman Catholic.

"14) Finally, what is your favourite colour?

I like blue, and orange. Not green. Red and yellow are OK. Not purple, tho. (I
remember colours, before I lost practically all of my bunch of sight at nine -
a cataract.)
