Yes, that was on purpose. And only one kind of accent, not three.

I considered using the diaeresis, but dropped it in the two places I
had considered it (Aifel, naiado) since the digraph <ai> is pronounced
as a diphthong even without the diaeresis.
Where is the diaeresis used, then? For /oy/ and /Ei/?
...never mind; I just found "Diacritics. 2. Diaeresis" on the
OrthoAndPhono page.
