Correction: I've worked on future **Swedish**, as well as on an alternate-timeline Inglisc. The premise for the latter is that the Norse beat the Inglisc at Stamford Bridge in 1066 and that there later was a battle on the Thames between the Norse and the Normans which both claimed to have won. As a result Ingland was politically split in three for most of the Middle Inglisc period: French influence was much less (tho not wholly absent), Latin influence was somewhat less and Norse influence about the same as in our timeline. The idea is that Inglisc comes out a much more "normal" Germanic language, i.e. more similar to Dutch and the Scandinavian languages, but less archaic than German or Icelandic. And with a much cooler orthography... I've also used a home-made future pidgin English in one of my stories, but I don't think I ever mentioned that on this list... /BP 8^)> -- B.Philip Jonsson mailto:bpX@netg.se (delete X) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~__ A h-ammen ledin i phith! \ \ __ ____ ____ _____________ ____ __ __ __ / / \ \/___ \\__ \ /___ _____/\ \\__ \\ \ \ \\ \ / / / / / / / \ / /Melroch\ \_/ // / / // / / / / /___/ /_ / /\ \ / /Melarokko\_ // /__/ // /__/ / /_________//_/ \_\/ /Eowine __ / / \___/\_\\___/\_\ Gwaedhvenn Angeliniel\ \______/ /a/ /_h-adar Merthol naun ~~~~~~~~~Kuinondil~~~\________/~~\__/~~~Noolendur~~~~~~ || Lenda lenda pellalenda pellatellenda kuivie aiya! || "A coincidence, as we say in Middle-Earth" (JRR Tolkien)
