In Galeon (a Mozilla derivative for Linux which has the option of
disabling unrequested popups, there a pop-up windows, but no page gets
loaded in them.
However, you'll probably find that disabling popups is against the terms
of service. I would recommend finding another service provider. I'm pretty
sure free.fr has no ads, though the sign-up stuff is all in French, but
Christophe has many times offered to create accounts for conlangers; you
might want to privately email him (or wait till he gets back from France).
