It would if you're talking about writing on paper. I'm thinking a
computer-based script. And a method for writing a language in a traditional
consonants-only setting, like Old Hebrew, Ugaritic, Old South Arabian. That
would work with a type of shape-based syllabry like Canadian, rather than
pointing symbols in different directions.
This would be a major problem for the color-blind, however.
Now that I do remember it, there's a language in Africa (?) that uses a
multi-colored writing system!
