Wait: we can't take things to extremes here. Obviously, it's not a guarantor of or an impetus towards peace. That's not really being debated here (at least, the original poster hasn't responded back). The problem is only that it's an oversimplification of the situation -- common languages *can* lead to greater understanding, and so insofar as that is true, it's not "crapola". Remember: any generalization you make about the world will be, by the very fact that it's an abstraction, missing the mark some.
