Raymond, I saw all of his special characters displayed in the proper way,
but in your post on the other hand everything you quoted from him was
strange. Some of the characters came out as odd characters, many of them as
sequences of backslash+3 digits. *sigh* This was all working before I
decided to update my terminfo stuff...
