Ok, I like this idea. Not sure if something like this has gone around
before, but it's always good to get to know some about newer members.
I'm Barry Garcia (as if the email address didnt say), i was born and
raised in the beautiful area of Monterey (the former Spanish capital of
Alta California), in North Central Coastal California. I am 22 years old,
and one of the many gay men on the list. I go to one of the state's newer
Cal State University campuses, Monterey Bay where I am studying Spanish,
as well as culture (i'm focusing more on culture than literature). I speak
Mostly English, but can hold my own in Spanish (not fluent but i
understand a lot, and can speak quite well). I hope to go overseas in fall
of 2002 so I can gain a better command of the language, and learn
firsthand about a country and culture i know little about (I'm thinking
Costa Rica or Venezuela). I'm a gardener, and am known to obsess about
certain species of plants (such as my current two obsessions, Parajubaea
cocoides (Quito Palm), and Archontophoenix cunninghamiana (king palm),
which is a stunning palm from Australia) . I have two Conlangs, Saalangal
(on the backburner), and Montreiano, which i'm currently working on.
