Here's the whole post, from 3/21: I'm Laurie, age almost-40, living in Minnesota in the USA. I was born and raised here in the Minneapolis area, never been much of a traveller. Linguistically, I am fluent in English. I've been studying Japanese and Norwegian, but will not claim to speak either. Learning to comprehend conversational-speed language is *very* difficult for me, although my ability to speak individual words with a correct accent is surprisingly good for an adult learner. I also studied German for five years during junior high and high school, and that has helped immensely with the Norwegian. I also studied Linguistics during graduate school, and my master's thesis was in Computational Linguistics (I'm a software engineer by profession). I've been pretty much a lurker here on Conlang for a while, my time going more to natlangs and other arts. But what work I've done on Old Arvandran is still up at my web page: http://www.winternet.com/~milo/conlangs.html. The other conlang I've done any particular work on is Spontoon, for the fictional south Pacific isle of Spontoon. I don't have any examples of that one web-ified yet, but some non-linguistic references can be seen at: http://www.yerf.com/gerhlaur/index.htm. Music? I'm not much into music, but my tastes do encompass Fleetwood Mac, Electric Light Orchestra, Alan Parsons Project, The Police, Styx, and also Celtic and classical. I'll also admit to a taste in soundtracks, lately focussed especially on anime series: "Vampire Princess Miyu", "Shoujo Kakumei Utena", "Hana Yori Dango" and others.
