I know it's a bit too late but ... I'm Daniel Tse (aka Imperative), only 15
and self-proclaimed amateur linguist...I speak (and read and write)
English, Cantonese (the Chinese dialect of Hong Kong), Japanese, I can
moderately speak Italian (but can write and read well) and am currently
trying to learn Spanish.
I live in Sydney, Australia and have been conlanging for only ... 2 years?
Anyway, the first conlang site I ever went to was one of the Laadan sites
(the purple one) and from there I made an awfully primitive conlang, but my
first (it was really a relexification, but why ruin a story?)
I put conlanging away for about 6 months but I revived it in the Term 2
break last year when I created a now defunct conlang, "Corsceleon", which I
worked on a bit but after finding more conlang sites (by way of Richard
Kennaway's list) I eventually felt it was horribly primitive. At this point
I read up on (con)linguistics by first joining the langmaker2 list and then
this list, and eventually produced another conlang of much greater
complexity and reality which I called "Orynath"...which though satisfactory
was still a bit crude compared to the many projects discussed here. Then
came the second version of aforementioned conlang soon after. But the
creator was not pleased; I recently abandoned that project, and am now
recreating its grammar and vocabulary but keeping the same style, also
renaming it (currently only has a temporary name "O/C"). This one, I think
I'll be more satisfied with in the long run...
Music tastes? Geh...They Might Be Giants? Um...Moby? Beatles...lots of other
stuff from the 60s, 70s and 80s too...oh and the Italian chainsmoking
"singer" Paolo Conte.
And some classical...nothing really specific at the moment.
That's all...
