Re: Embedded Interrogatives

Hello,

        My name is Jim Grossmann, back from a hiatus.    I have questions
for any and all.

Are embedded interrogative complements (e.g. I asked him WHAT HE SAW.    It
was WHERE HE WENT that puzzles me.) common cross-linguistically?   Or would
including them in my conlang make it a euroclone?

I can't find the answer in my copies of 'Linguistic typology and syntactic
description.'

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
