As I already told Jennifer, I'm using Modern Icelandic. I had no issue
with -ur vs. -r (which is a superficial difference, MIc. having inserted a
svarabhakti vowel in final Cr clusters, and simplified final -rr). What I
had issue with was the masc. vs. feminine thing. Incidentally our exchange
has debunked the claim that the differences between Old and Modern
Icelandic are negligible -- to others than linguistically-minded native
speakers. Fine with me; it needed debunking!
