Me too. I was copying out the glossary at the back of the Silmarillion,
so my parents got me the Book of Lost Tales, book 1, for (birthday|christmas).
I immediately started following Tolkien's steps like they were some kind
of recipe. Map, check. Roots, check. I didn't know what roots were, but
I figured I needed them. Oddly, this actually worked out, sorta.
