Howdy all.
This is my first post here, recommended to me by David Peterson.
I am planning on running a class on conlangs at UC Berkeley - a "DE-Cal",
i.e., student-run course. It's tentative so far; I'm currently fleshing out
the syllabus / notes / etc, and I'm to talk with my potential faculty
sponsor in a couple days.
The details (e.g., what DE-Cals are, the syllabus-so-far, a couple class
outlines) are at http://www.livejournal.com/~conlangs_decal (and /info for
more). I'd appreciate any input on what to cover, how, progression, good
resources, homework to assign, etc. - especially if any of you have prior
experience with teaching a class (or colloquium, or whatever) on conlangs.
You can find out more about *me* at http://www.livejournal.com/~saizai/info .
Thanks,
Sai Emrys
