They do here too, in Sweden that is. My fiancée will never
forget the time she walked up to the counter and said
"I want _hemkört_". The funny thing is that on the face of it
_hemkört_ means 'driven home', but in actuality it means
'homeproduced liquor', which is of course illegal.
The man behind the counter smiled and asked
"Sure, how much?"
Anddreas, after you've stopped ROTFLing you must
explain to the Germans sitting next to you what was
so funny! :)
Otherwise And's characterization is spot-on, especially
the comparison of the shops to the intestine channel
accurately describes the shop outside Gothenburg.
And I *am* afraid smugness *is* a Swedish trait.
