No, you are quite right. Some Sw. examples:

_jag hoppas_ "I hope", deponent

_de pussas_ "they are kissing (one another)", reflexive

_det krossas_ "it is being crushed", passive



It may be noted that the Sw. verb for "to die" can take an object of sorts:

_han dog sotdöden_ "he died the age/disease-death" = "he died of age/disease"

In informal speech, it can also take the -s ending in impersonal constructions:

_det dös en massa här_ "a lot of people are dying here", lit. "it is dying a lot
here"
