The Swedish pronunciation is ["l}:tfisk]*. I'd describe the taste as halfway
between a wooden plank and hard vacuum, but evidently many people like it.
Unlike "surströmming", I see no reason why "lutfisk" (as we spell it) should
be classified as an NBC weapon.
* It's kind of a speciality of the province of Bohuslän, that belonged to
Norway until the 1600s.
