My theory is that the human mind has a deep inclination towards deeply
consistent things, and sometimes, this is unconscious, so it appears as if
the thing invented has taken a life of its own. My rationalization of it
is that it's more of a discovery of our own mind, discovering new patterns
that "fit" the model of the conlang that has been internalized by us.
But of course, all this is just my conjecture. To be taken with a large
grain of salt :-)
