[snip] My theory is that the human mind has a deep inclination towards deeply consistent things, and sometimes, this is unconscious, so it appears as if the thing invented has taken a life of its own. My rationalization of it is that it's more of a discovery of our own mind, discovering new patterns that "fit" the model of the conlang that has been internalized by us.
