i remember somewhere seing examples of written IPA. my favourite was
writing ':' as a flattened reversed 's', rather like the handwritten
russian 'g'. always looks pretty . . ..

But question, did anyone expect anyone to use the IPA as a written form?
Or just printed? Cause some of the letter forms are not that easy to use
or gets confused with other letters.
