I would agree that New Zealanders only use "Down Under" occasionally;
and usually in reference to somewhere else on the globe (as in
greetings from Down Under). The more common nickname among New
Zealanders is "Godzone", a play on God's Own (Country). Comparable
with Australia the "Lucky Country".
