Well, Rokbeigalmki uses the first syllable (well, not exactly, it's the
beginning of the word up until the first vowel) to make acronyms, instead
of using the first letter of the word.
So for instance, _dzu''fa''ri_, the Rokbeigalmki New Year, is short for
_^dzuwaurg^dafal^ri.hlao^semoz-a_, "the festival of the widening of the
circle of the sun", otherwise known as the day after the (southern
hemisphere's) winter solstice. Only the first syllable of the root is
taken.
There was supposed to be a one-third partial eclipse here in NYC at
sunrise, but it was too cloudy to see anything.
