Oh, I don't know. Of course, a lot of people think bagpipes are out
of tune as well! So that's culture for you.
I do agree that part of the instrument's charm is the fuzzy tuning:
the plinky sound makes for much of the rest. And the wobbly action;
cheap plastic keys that click and clack in time with the tune; hammers
that don't always return, and you have to tip the thing backwards to
get them to fall back onto the jacks; a keyboard that's essentially
built for a seven year old; etc. Very charming instrument!
