I'm aware that both sound change processes happen in reality (I think I've
seen voicing harmony happening in Gujarati, which some members of my family
speak), but I'm concerned with their moving in two different directions..
I'm going to have to do some research.
As for a firm grasp of articulatory phonetics, I'll have to see what the
libraries turn up when I'm in college next year.
