Missed a comma there - Altaii and Eithi^ni are different, if related
languages.
Seeing that many people have discussed the etymologies of their lagn-names,
I thought I'd to the same:
Steienzh, Telennets, Keshea^ras, Altaii and Eithi^ni are all derived from
place-names without any etymology. _Steiene_ used to be derived from a word
meaning "region in the direction of the galaxy's spin" (_Forz Vojek_ in
Steienzh), but that word's now _Tsháná_, yielding Steienzh _Tshane_.
Tairezazh is from _Taia_ the "the Earth", _reze_ "region, place", the
name-forming element _-a_ and the adjectival ending _-zh_.
Tersnuvu is from Primitive Azainic _Tarisunu-bhu_, which in turn consists of
_taris_ "horizon", _nu_ "country" and the adjectival ending _-bhu_.
Primitive Azainic is an English name (translation of Swedish
"fornazainiska") refering to language that, intrafictionally, is
reconstructed from now extant languages. Intrafictionally, nobody has the
faintest idea what its speakers called it.
