Ural-Altaic and other linked families

(My apologies for losing the original posts which I try to quote in all
my replies.)
For what it's worth, Ural-Altaic linking is alive and well in the form
of Nostratic. Other families closely associated by some:
Uralic-Yukaghir
Dene-Caucasian (which can include Basque, Burushaski, Sino-Tibetan, and
Ket-Yeniseyan)
Basque-Aquitanian
Elamo-Dravidian
Hurrian-Caucasian (NOT Kartvelian)
Austric (Austronesian and Austroasiatic?)
Australian (Pama-Nyungan and possibly Papuan)
Amerind (everything except Inuit-Aleut and Na-Dene)
Indo-Tyrrhenian (proposed by Glen Gordon; includes Indo-European,
Etruscan and what not)
Nostratic and to a lesser extent Sino-Caucasian (see Sergei Starostin's
Babel project) have been defended with strong arguments, which of
course still fail to avoid controversy.
