Why shake thee head?  -x is a valid ending for Latin ( the ks sound ).
Subjects end in -s ( nom. )
Take frex ( ^_^ ): nox      NOM
                   noctem   ACC
                   nocte    ABL

Comprende?

I have been studying Latin since August, and I could teach you some things,
but you might do better to just take a course or something like that.

I can give you the publisher of my excellent course ( comes with tapes for
pronunciation guide and such ) if you like.
