I think you may be right. The other possibility (that conlanging is a
symptom of mental disorder) doesn't appeal to me.
I've never been under treatment for mental illness (I know I'm not
unique, but we may be a minority)

When I was younger I read Marina Yaguello's book and immediately went to see=20
a psychologist. He told me I was perfectly OK. I trusted him somehow ;-) But=20
he also warned me that I must chat with people sharing the same hobby. But I=20
couldn't find conlangers off the cuff in Paris so maybe it's already too lat=

and I'm done and They got me.
Depressed only when doing maths and having my heart broken. However my=20
friends tell me all the time that they find it hard to get to know me but=20
really enjoy my complete impredictability so I don't make any effort to=20
change. Conlanging is freedom to me. You don't need any tool to do that. So =
I=20
must admit that after arguing very formally and technically (I'm an=20
attorney-at-law) on boring subjects I enjoy being free and achieving=20
something harmful, beautiful and useless.
