The same way a Chinese reader does. By looking it up in the dictionary. The
advantage is that the 25 or 30 characters would have a defined alphabetical
order so it would be posisble to have a well-ordered dictionary. The dictionary
would probably have to resort to a phonetic alphabet to describe the
pronunciation.
