I'd call it 'interest in grammar theory'. :-P
For the creativity part, I'd then paraphrase it a bit so that it
does not sound profane:
E.g. 'Entwurf von Sprachen zur Erforschung der grammatischen
Grundlagen in verschiedensten Sprachfamilien.'
