Ok, thanks for clearing that up for me :) I was wondering if any language
makes a distinction between plain & palatalized consonants followed by
[i]...Russian doesn't, because unpalatalized consonants cannot come before
[i] (Unless they have the hard sign before them, which I think is quite
rare), Irish doesn't, because they have a platalized - velarized
distinction, instead of a palatalized - plain...and I can't think of any
more.
