I'm working on a time system based on succession, kind of inspired by
comics (see Scott McCloud's "Understanding Comics", chapter 4 I think).
A "sequence" is a list of clauses describing successive events,
optionally separated by specifications of the time separating them. My
"happy birthday" formula tends to translate to something on the order of
"X is born, Y years pass, then a happy day." I'm not sure this system
will work at all, but I'll be developing it a bit in the near future.
