Interesting. I'll have to check that out. Re Spanish and Port., I would have thought they'd use "caridad" instead of "amor" (English translations vary, too). I'll see what Indonesian has; I don't remember "faith". And somewhere I have a tattered Bible in Sa'dan Toraja, given to me by one of my students, whose given names were "Martin Luther". To my view, a masterful translation, by one Dr. H. van der Veen in early 20th Cent., the missionary-linguist who spent his entire life in the area. The Psalms are especially interesting, as Sa'dan ritual poetry uses the same sort of parallelism as Hebrew. (The language is spoken in the mountainous uplands of the SW arm of Sulawesi (Celebes), related to Buginese and Makassarese. One of my favorites. In recent years, Toraja-land has become something of a tourist destination. A beautiful place, and lovely people. You may have seen TV programs on their funerary rites; I just missed the rites for the last king, in late 1972 or early 73-- he had died quite some time before, but couldn't be sent off officially until the omens were just right.)
