A Very Scientific Examination carried out by me when
I was walking to and from uni today when I was listening
to a mixed tape of hiphop gave the results that all of
the rappers (about 15) had the non-rhotic dialect (which
I already knew, but just to make sure). The exception was
Marc 7even of "Jurassic 5" who actually had rhotic r's
from time to time. But that was just to the exception to
confirm the rule.
Another interesting brit-like thing about that dialect
is the use of /?/ to replace /t/ in certain surroundings.
I couldn't figure out the rule, but it seems to have
something [sV?m=] to do with a following nasal.
