:) Yes, the words I mention are mostly just bad in rhotic dialects. I'd say
us Icelanders are more used to the American rhotic dialect (via Hollywood
and rap-music, etc). I generally speak rhotic, which is why "word order"
causes me problems - how do other rhotic speakers feel about that one? It's
especially bad in American because of the flap articulation of the d's,
which adds to the rhotic-overflow.
As for "genre", I hate it because a) it's one of the few, if not the only,
word with an initial /Z/, and b) because it has an /nr/ combination, which
I find most unpreferable (no, none of my sons will be named "Henry", or the
Icelandic equivalent thereof :p).
