My favorite part of the article is the way he wrote out the Chickasaw.

<chokema> = [tSokm@]
<schlavanka> = [L@baNk@]
Rising pitch on both words.

[L] is a lateral fricative. Now, I'm quite good at making lateral
fricatives, but I never would have imagined someone spelling them <schl>.

(Those are my pronunciations, not actual Chickasaw speakers').
