Not necessarily, if Vampires are a small enough minority, humans could
be adequate food sources, at least, if Vampires were nomadic. If blood
isn't their *only* food source, they could even conceivably live a
settled life.

Are they immortal? If not, couldn't they simply use an equivalent of
birth control to keep their population stable?
