Ah, but who would use the birth control and who wouldn't?
Actually, the Sime~Gen situation is rather different. The children of
Simes have a 1/3 probability of being Gen, and vice versa. Gens
therefore live in a heavily armed peace, ready to slaughter their
children (until puberty, the two are indistinguishable) at a
moment's notice.
