Well, it ranges from school aptitude tests to college admission
(theoretically optional there, though not marked as so), but mostly I was
talking about required forms like tax forms (Americans tax themselves, and
you can't afford to piss off the IRS, which requires you to fill in a race
box which is highly limited in choice) and US Census forms (which are rare
enough, admittedly).
