Serbian is indeed truly beautiful. The (present tense) verb
paradigm was actually what first really made me aware (many,
many winters ago) of how close Indo-European languages really
are, as did what little I've learnt (<--- !) of Albanian. What I found
struck me most in dozen or so Albanian words I saw was _eshte"_
(sp?) that made my young mind go "Hang on a second, that's far
too close to Spanish!" :-)

Although, I'd be interested. I guess if the Wewnet are going to
hang onto their conhistory, I ought to learn at least a little of
Georgian, Armenian and Turkish. Anyone recommend a good
guide to the languages of the area? Online is good, but I don't
mind paying for it. :-)
