I was rather partial to 'écu' ... rather something plenty of people can't
pronounce than something with 10+ different more-or-less correct
pronunciations!
Is there _any_ digraph that has more readings across Europe than 'eu'?
My 'lect contributes [e] in _Europa_, [e:.u\] in _Eurasien_ and [Ev] in
_euro_ ...
