The trouble with borrowing books from the library is that it's very hard to
refer to 'em after leaving 'em back ...
Still, I'm pretty certain I read in a book called "A History of the
Byzantine State and Society" (or similar) that the Vlachs were
romance-speakers. And the Wallachians, with their suspiciously similar name,
certainly are.
