Completely arbitrary divisions of the day into manageable chunks, most
likely.
In my con-culture, in the early days of Lunar Independance, there was a
short-lived calendar which divided up the Lunar "day" (period from
sunrise to sunrise) into exactly 30 "days", each 30-day unit being
called a month, and 12 making a year. So, essentially, analagous to a
lunar calendar. However, that didn't last long and they returned to
going by Earth's calendar after a few years.
